Are You Proactive OR Reactive?

We’ve made it quick and convenient for you to manage your blog from anywhere. In this blog post we’ll share the ways you can post to your Wix Blog.

As Christian’s, we chose to operate through proactive or reactive measures during the course of our life.

Proactive Christians think ahead, anticipate & plan for change or crisis. A proactive Christian is usually someone being led by the spirit basing their choices on biblical principles and values. They are unwavering in their faith and belief and make decisions based on what they know to be true in the word of God and the teachings of our heavenly father.

Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. Matthew 7: 24-25 NIV

Reactive Christians react to change or crisis after it has happen, simply due to a lack of planning. A Reactive Christian will be led by their flesh and base their choices on desires, feelings, circumstances, conditions, and their environment. Their opinion and reaction is not settled or rooted on a firm foundation.

But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash. Matthew 7: 26-27 NIV

Proactive Christians will seek to establish some of the following habits:

Look for ways to live a holy life—

Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy. I Peter 1:13-16 NIV

Treasurer things above—

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:1-2 NIV

Study, teach and pray—

For Ezra had devoted himself to the study and observance of the Law of the Lord, and to teaching its decrees and laws in Israel. Ezra 7:10 NIV; Pray continually… I Thessalonians 5:17 NIV

Obey and apply the word of God—

Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Joshua 1:7-8 NIV

Serve as an example—

You should think of us as servants of Christ, the ones God has trusted to do the work of making known his secret truths. Those who are trusted with such an important work must show that they are worthy of that trust. I Corinthians 4: 1-2 ERV

Look for an example to follow—

Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith. Hebrews 13:7 ER
